Founded in Rijeka, a city rich in maritime tradition, our journey began in 1992 as a family-owned boat building workshop. Initially focused on designing and building boats for both recreational and professional use, our vision was to craft high-quality vessels that perform exceptionally, drawing on the extensive experience of our founder, a former Olympic class sailor and professional fisherman.
Over the years, this passion and dedication have been passed down to the second generation of naval architects at FLYMAR, who now carry forward 30+ years of experience and craftsmanship. Since then professional focus has expanded and today we offer a broad range of services, including yacht design, marine engineering and consulting.
Robin Matulja, CEO
Robin Matulja is a dedicated naval architect with over 20 years of experience in boatbuilding and yacht design. He is passionate about projects that require particular attention to enhanced performance and handling.
Second generation of sailors with over 30 years of top-level sailing experience in Olympic and international classes, Robin has gained a deep understanding of how design influences performance in real sea environments.
Thanks to that, his greatest strength lies in his ability to translate clients' needs into designs that excel in performance.
Through FLYMAR, Robin is helping individuals and nautical business professionals to design and develop the best solutions for their needs, achieving a perfect balance between visual satisfaction and actual performance.
Tin Matulja, Technical Advisor
Tin Matulja holds a doctorate in naval architecture and has over 25 years of experience in boatbuilding technology, production processes, and yacht design. He is a professor and Head of the Department for Shipbuilding Technology and Organization at the Faculty of Engineering.
His work centers on advancing ship and yacht production methods, optimizing processes, and improving project management, bridging academic research with industrial application to enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability in modern boatbuilding.
With more than 35 years of competitive sailing experience, Tin combines practical insight with technical expertise. Through FLYMAR, he develops innovative, reliable, and systematic technical solutions for clients across the maritime sector.
